The access to the program OUTLOOK REMINDERS and notes is varied for different users (accounts). To create new desktop reminder notes and work with locked notes, you have to know the password. If you want to make changes in Administrative tools, you have to enter the administrative password. All information is encrypted using 256-bit key AES encryption
* The Rijndael (AES) algorithm
AES stands for Advanced Encryption Standard. AES OUTLOOK REMINDERS is a symmetric key encryption technique which will replace the commonly used Data Encryption Standard (DES).
It was the result of a worldwide call for submissions of encryption algorithms issued by the US Government's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in 1997 and completed in 2000.
The OUTLOOK REMINDERS algorithm, Rijndael, was developed by two Belgian cryptologists, Vincent Rijmen and Joan Daemen. AES provides strong encryption and has been selected by NIST as a Federal Information Processing Standard in November 2001 (FIPS-197).
* The Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA)
The Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) is the OUTLOOK REMINDERS elliptic curve analogue of the Digital Signature Algorithm (DSA). It was accepted in 1999 as an ANSI standard, and was accepted in 2000 as IEEE and NIST standards. It was also accepted in 1998 as an ISO standard, and is under consideration for inclusion in some other ISO standards.
* Calendar Hash Algorithm (SHA-256)
SHA-256 is the new draft standard intended as a companion for the new Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) to provide a similar level of enhanced security. SHA-256 is specified in NIST standard FIPS 180-2.
