Sending E-Mail events can optionally be set up to automatically send e-mail when the event is due or near due. Use the E-Mail options tab in the Event Information editor to customize if and how you would like your e-mail generated. If you enable sending e-mail for a particular event you can specify to what e-mail DATE REMINDER address(es) the letter should be sent, how far in advance of the event the e-mail should be sent, what to include in the body of the e-mail, what to attach to the e-mail, and whether or not you would like to have it sent automatically. By specifying the "Prompt Before Sending" option, you can compose the note DATE REMINDER yourself prior to sending it. In this case will create the e-mail message as you have specified, and then leave it open for you to write your letter and then send. When composing an e-mail message can also walk you through recording a personalized voice greeting, which will then automatically attach to your e-mail. DATE REMINDER This feature uses your computer's sound card and microphone along with Window's Sound Recorder. When the option "File / Options... / Prompts / Ask to Record Sound Clip Before Sending E-mail" is turned on, you will be given the option to create a sound recording to be attached to your e-mail whenever an e-mail is created. DATE REMINDER Mail Merge: allows you to specify a file that will be included in the body of the e-mail message. This "include file" can contain keywords which will be replaced with the appropriate value from the event when the e-mail is composed by . Your friend, John Smith The following keywords can be used in a "include file" or subject line for your e-mails. The keywords should included the angled brackets. Mail merge DATE REMINDER fields are case insensitive. Event's name Start and end times of event, or the text "(not timed)" if this is an un-timed event Date of next occurrence for this event Today's date The number of year's old for this event, as of the event date. For example, if this is a birthday event, and the birth-date is set DATE REMINDER to June 27th, 1966 and today is June 20th, 2006, the event age is 40 since they will be 40 on the date of the event.
